First Shopping Mall In Anambra State Opening Soon

Anambra State Gov. Willie Obaino
Onitsha, the largest commercial and trading centre in South East Nigeria, is set to witness increased tempo of activities as the first shopping mall in the area opens for business in the first quarter of 2016.
Onitsha Mall, a joint venture project by African Capital Alliance and the Anambra State Government, is located off Awka Road in the GRA part of the city. The mall has over 60 shops and is easily accessible from all parts of Onitsha and surrounding towns such as Obosi, Oba, Ogbaru, Nsugbe, Nkwelle, Nkpor, Ogidi and Aguleri, to name a few.
Ngonyama Okpanum Associates “NOA”, an international architectural firm with offices in Abuja, Cape Town and Saigon Vietnam are the designers of the Mall. The debt funding for the project was provided by Diamond Bank.
The facility, the first of its kind in Anambra State, is at about 95% completion and will open for business in February 2016. Shoprite and a number of big retailers offering fashion accessories, sports equipment, banking services, telecom and ICT software and hardware services have secured space in the mall. These retailers are busy fitting out their shops in preparation for the February 2016 opening.
The developers of the project, African Capital Alliance (ACA) said the new mall facility will signal a new dawn in the life of the city that has grappled with a dearth of quality recreational and modern lifestyle-enhancing amenities.
ACA’s real estate fund manager, Obiora Nwogugu, stated: “the mall will provide ample social, life-style and entertainment facilities for all categories of people. It boasts of adequate security and parking space, thereby making it an ideal place to shop, entertain and meet up with friends and family. We have also placed a premium on the use of modern equipment and methods to ensure the safety of our shoppers”.

BUA Works Against FG's Drive for Investment into Local Vegetable Oil Cultivation

Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, Chairman Bua Group
The federal government's drive to reduce pressure on the nations foreign exchange reserves and promote large scale creation of farming jobs in local communities in the country is being seriously set back by some companies it has been learnt.

According to investigations, BUA group, a Nigerian conglomerate, which has benefitted from federal government preferential trade incentives under the Backward Integration Policy has refused to join others in the same category to invest in real agricultural production and manufacturing.

In the vegetable oil sector, it was gathered that while other vegetable oil producers are investing in massive cultivation of oil palm plantations, BUA has done virtually nothing in terms of farming, instead it fully depends on importation of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) from Asia for refining in Nigeria with only very little value addition and economic activities created.

This business strategy said to be championed by BUA is blamed by experts for the continuous exportation of job opportunities that could have bailed a lot of Nigerians out of unemployment and poverty to other countries in Asia.

A market watcher noted: "It is disgraceful that BUA group that has received all sorts of incentives from the federal government, from hugely subsidised tariff and concessionary importation quotas over the years will not deem it necessary to begin to engage in actual production within the country. Mere importation of crude palm oil for packaging and distribution will never bring the needed economic advancement to this country."

According to investigations, PZ Wilmar which had been earlier criticised for the same issue has been seen to have acquired nearly 50,000 hectares of oil palm plantation from the Cross River State government and Obasanjo farms and they are currently rehabilitating the palm trees in this plantation, creating jobs for thousands of local people across the country.

"Unfortunately, till date, it remains to be seen if BUA with all its claim to be a foremost and major manufacturer in Nigeria, has really injected significant investment in real productive agriculture and manufacturing.

"Rather, it is said to have just been a company that imports bulk of its raw materials, many of which can be produced locally, little value addition and a lot of smile to the bank with huge margins, shipping most of the jobs and economic activities that should have been created to Asia and South America from where the significantly processed raw materials are mainly imported.

"Certainly, with Nigeria's economy now the way it is, this is not the time to encourage the kind of quasi-manufacturing operation which BUA has been accused of championing. Forex supply has reduced by almost 60 per cent, revenue to the federal government has dipped by almost the same percentage and the situation is forecast to remain gloomy for a long time to come. So, for operators who are not ready to get their hands dirty in actual farming and manufacturing, Nigeria certainly is no more the ideal market for their operations," a source stressed.

How Jumia Nigeria has been Maltreating Their Nigerian Staff

+ Real Reason Their Nigerian Staffs are Leaving En-mass

Nigerians are being exposed to all sort of hardship in the form of work, it has over the years become norms for foreign employers to be treating their Nigerian staffs as if they are slaves, this has been going on now for sometimes and the governments seems unperturbed. It is based on the conviction of the government not doing anything that organisations like Jumia, an online based store owned by the Internet Rocket Group has been treating their staff in ways closely related to the slave trade era.

Investigation revealed that Jumia, which entered into the Nigerian market some 3 years ago has been treating their Nigerian Staffs with disdain, an example is their scheme whereby their packers are mandated to work for 12 hours on their feet with not break on the pretense that they may steal products.

Sources revealed that Jumia has been paying police heavily to subvert any form of hope to bring unionism into the company, as whoever they sees as championing anything relating to the workers joining labour union are dealt with first by getting such person arrested on flimsy allegation after which such person's appointment will be terminated.

There is even a new trend in Jumia, whereby staffs who decided they are no longer working for the company and are therefore going are forced to sign that they are sacked just to taint their records. Some of their former staffs who Spoke with Society Gazette revealed that refusal to sign the documents are met with a lot of aggression which also involves using the police to lock you up.

Another of the Jumia staff who will not want to be mentioned revealed that things are so bad with working with Jumia now as the company is also hacking into staffs email accounts just to know who is sending applications out to other companies, a situation that has seen them loose many of their staffs to their competitors. Their staffs now are living in the fear that the insecure approach of the company management may see some of them in the police net should they make any attempt at bettering their own life outside the company.

OGUN GROUP CONGRATULATES ADEOSUN, TASKS AMOSUN ON NEW CABINET

A group in Ogun State, the Ogun Grassroots Development Awareness Forum, has described the immediate past Commissioner for Finance in Ogun state and one of the ministerial nominees waiting to be screened by the National Assembly, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, as an innovation-driven goal getter that Nigeria needs in her march to a new culture of governance that is based on integrity and performance.

In the same vein, the group has called on Governor Ibikunle Amosun to sustain the culture of prudence, innovation and accountability in the management of the state’s finance which was one of the hallmarks of his administration in his first term of office, if he hoped to remain eternally relevant in the history of the state.

In a media chat in Lagos, Chairman of the Forum, Adekunle Abegunde said Adeosun’s achievements stand tall as an important member of Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s crack team of experts and technocrats whose invaluable contributions in the governor’s first term catapulted the state on the national development index.

He observed that the governor’s well documented towering achievements in his first term of four years in the area of infrastructural renewal, expansion and maintenance across the state owed primarily to the turnaround in the state’s internally generated revenue capability which the ex-Finance Commissioner supervised.

“All well meaning Ogun indigenes today praise governor Amosun for what he achieved in his first term, especially the accelerated renewal of social infrastructure in the state.

Without a turnaround in the state’s IGR profile, that would not have been possible. So, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, as the Finance Commissioner then deserves commendation for working professionally, passionately and selflessly under the governor’s watch to establish prudence, accountability, innovation and right prioritizing as principles of financial management in the state. The state and its indigenes can never forget this achievement of hers”.

Abegunde noted further that the Ogun Home Owners Chatter was yet another innovative project of the Amosun government that Kemi Adeosun executed and supervised in a professional manner that indigenes would forever remain grateful for. According to him, the project has helped many property owners in the state to perfect their ownership documents with the government in a very affordable and stress-free manner.

While commending President Muhammadu Buhari for finding the former commissioner worthy of higher assignment at the national level,   Abegunde enjoined Governor Amosun to throw up a few other unique talents in his new cabinet so that the state’s development journey under him could receive fresh impetus.

“Governor Amosun has shown himself to be a good manager who is adept at throwing up great talents. He did that in his first cabinet. He should do it again. Ogun has given to Nigeria a very bright, fresh and passionate individual which the governor threw up in his first term. As indigenes of the state, we are proud of Kemi Amosun going to work with President Buhari.  It is up to Governor Amosun to ensure that Nigeria’s gain is not Ogun state’s loss”.

Bishop (Dr.) Tom Samson Revels On Life At 50

The founder and General Overseer of Christ Royal Family Int’l Church, Bishop (Dr.) Tom Samson is all set to hit the golden age in a couple of weeks.  In a well attended press conference on Thursday 8th October, 2015, the revered man of God revealed activities leading to his 50th birthday celebration that comes up on Saturday 12th December, 2015 inside his 100 hectare Royal City in Otta, Ogun State.

The Bishop who was born into the family of Pa Enweliku Samson, a mason from Delta State and Madam Eunice Enweliku Samson about fifty years ago in the ancient town of Ile Ife, revealed how he did not allow his poverty-stricken background affect his destiny, reiterating how his father died because the family could not afford N2000 for medication.
It was indeed an emotion-laden tale of an amazing grass to grace life experience that is worth inspiring anyone down today that he can be up tomorrow.

Violent Tom as he was known back in school days went through school without text books or handouts, but managed to see life through the then Bendel State University where he bagged a degree in Biology Education.

Bishop Tom Samson gave his life to Christ in 1985 and in 1986 when he joined the campus youth for Christ, a Christian fellowship in Ekpoma, while in his 100 level.

But as fate would have it, he moved to Abraka campus of the same University and started Christ Royal Family campus fellowship. At Abraka he was known as Violent Tom because of his zeal, energy and aggression in soul wining especially the way he involved the hide outs of cult groups and some hinterlands in the Niger Delta region.

After graduation, contrary to his desire of becoming a business man, God told him to preach the good news and that he should move to Lagos. He obeyed and Christ Royal Family campus fellowship transform to Christ Royal Family Church with the mandate to set the captives free and teach them to reign over life’s circumstance.

He is the general overseer of Christ Royal Family International Churches (an 100 acres city) with international headquarters Royal City, Ota and branches in Lagos (Egbeda, Ikeja, Festac, Ojokoro, Ikorodu) Abuja, Port Harcourt, London (U.K) Manchester, Dublin Ireland and Atlanta (USA)

He is the visitor /founder Royal City College of Education, Ota he is the proprietor of Royal City Colleges, Ota/Ikeja /Egbeda. Royal Dynasty International School Ota/Ikeja /Egbeda. He is the CEO of Royal City Medical Center Ota Royal City water factory, Royal City printing press  Ota. Presently his brain child project Monarch University is undergoing approval process.

He has been a good ambassador of the country every where he has preached globally United State of America Europe South Africa United kingdom and west Africa  and his efforts are appreciated with awards.

In obedience he stormed Lagos about 23 years ago to establish his ministry as instructed by God without a forwarding address or money to start up his ministry, he passed through difficult life preaching the word of God and setting-free the oppressed but today he operate an international ministry, has chains of schools, hospitals, etc without over 200 staff under his employment.

In all of the difficult times, Bishop Tom was not alone; he had a confidant, a friend, a soul-mate partner in ministry – his amiable and adoring wife, Apostle Lanre Samson, whom he described as his jewel, a good preacher and an astute administrator.  Coincidentally, both of them will be celebrating 50 on the same day.

At 50 God has been so good to His servant, with a thriving ministry, good family, a role model in the society, a father in faith, indeed Bishop Tom Samson has seen it all.
For his obedience over the years and sacrifices to the Kingdom of God, he is today blessed with things of life including his eye-popping 40 feet Hummer Limousine that he cruises around town in.

He is the founder of Tom Samson foundation a foundation that caters for the less privileged. He is the founder /president of charismatic and power fellowship of seasoned ministers comprising of over five hundred pastors and general overseers of churches.

The chairman of the organizing committee for the birthday, Deacon Iyke Kanu highlighting activities lined up for the occasion said, “Because it’s the 50th birthday of our great bishop, we have put in place several committees to work effectively to make the day a glorious one, the plan is to have a carnival-like birthday party that will continue to reverberate even so many years after because we will be using the occasion to reveal the body of Christ, to let the world know what Christ can do, using the celebrant as a case study.

“Bishop Tom Samson came to Lagos as nobody but held onto Christ but today the world is celebrating him.  His life has been one amazing inspirational tale that will definitely give hope and we are leaving no stone unturned in making it a good avenue to touch lives and showcase God’s wonder.

“Some of the activities lined up for the birthday bash include a novelty football match, the launching of this books and biography, etc.  we are prepared to host the world”, he concludes

Femi Otedola, Ifeanyi Uba and Jide Omokore Fingered in Multibillion Naira Kerosine Subsidy Scam

...How Government officals have been Conniving with them to Defraud Nigerians
+How they are making more than N80 per litre Illegally for Themselves and Associates in government

Femi Otedola
In any forward-looking society, the government makes sure that whatever it earmarks for the people gets to them. But this far from the norm in Nigeria, where the government and some selected people have been hoodwinking the people they swore to protect and serve. There has been so much going on in terms of corruption and the fact that those who perpetrate the heinous crime against the people in most cases go scot-free. The very few that are prosecuted often turn out to be those who have stepped on the toes of the corrupt powers-that-be, and the cases turn out to be mere formality, as nobody is punished. This has further encouraged the reckless plundering of the country’s sovereign wealth and reinforces the submission of a governorship candidate during the just concluded electioneering campaign, who said that “governance in the country is like a company and whoever is elected is the CEO who disburses the people’s common wealth among the various corrupt cabals just like profits are shared among shareholders.

The most corrupt sector in Nigeria is, without doubt, the petroleum industry. It is where the people are most affected, as essential daily-used products like kerosene, diesel, cooking gas and petrol are traded. Knowing full well the importance of these products, it behoves on government to make sure that there is order in their distribution, to ensure availability and affordability. And their scarcity has a more telling effect the common man, who, because of government’s inability to provide stable electricity has to power his equipment himself. It is however sad that kerosene, which should be a reprieve for the common man, is being taken advantage of by those in government in conjunction with some private companies to perpetrate fraud of unimaginable proportions against Nigerians.

Years back, at the inception of the current political dispensation, it was general knowledge that Femi Otedola’s Zenon Oil was directly involved in the importation and distribution of Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK), generally called kerosene. This was attributed to his closeness to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who was then the President of Nigeria. It was even alleged that the former president decided to sell the state-owned African Petroleum (AP) to Otedola, to enable him effectively distribute the allegedly highly subsidised kerosene.

During this period, kerosene was sold for N50 only at AP, while other filling stations were either out of stock or were selling for around N100 or above. In most cases, it was the retailers who received their supplies from tankers that sold the product to people at astronomically high prices. The questions now are: since it was only Otedola’s AP that Obasanjo awarded the right to import and sell at subsidised rate, where were those selling in different streets across the country getting their supply? And at how much were they getting it that warranted them selling it as high as they were doing even then?
Ifeanyi Uba

It is the general belief that the right to be the sole importer and seller of kerosene during Obasanjo’s regime was responsible for the much talked about wealth and popularity of Otedola. Investigation shows that the money committed to the subsidy suddenly made kerosene importation and supply very lucrative. Little wonder that after Obasanjo’s tenure, another company started lobbying for the lucrative kerosene business. And this turned out to be the beginning of Ifeanyi Uba’s Capital Oil and Gas incursion into the money-spinning kerosene importation and distribution.

Uba, realising how much he stood to gain, tried his luck during Umaru Musa Yar’Adua’s regime when Diezani Alison-Madueke was appointed the Minister of Petroleum. Knowing that it would be very difficult to wrest the right off Otedola’s AP, he used the influence of the Petroleum Minister to introduce the concept of mobile filling stations. This was contained in an agreement signed with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for the sale of kerosene directly to consumers, which was said to be a move aimed at eliminating middlemen and bringing down the price.
The agreement happened to be the beginning of a systematic approach by the then Petroleum Minister to take from Otedola the importation right and consequent wealth the subsidy brings, and to give same to her own associates. In no time at all, the contract was issued to little known SPOG Petrochemicals, a company owned by Jide Omokore, a known associate of the Minister and that opened the door for the product to be sold to the people at a price far higher that it was pegged at by the government.

Unlike the era of Otedola’s African Petroleum, which has since changed name to Fort Oil, andb Ifeanyi Uba’s Capital Oil and Gas, which both sold and still sell to consumers through their filling stations and customised tankers otherwise known as mobile filling stations, Jide Omokore’s SPOG has nowhere to sell directly to consumers. It only sells to other companies that run filling stations. And that  is the reason the controlled price of N50 in some filling stations has since disappeared.

Findings revealed that a sum of $3.38 billion was spent on kerosene subsidy in the country between January 2012 and July 2013. But the people never got the product for anything less than N130 per litre during the stated period. This invariably means that some elements in the government and Mr. Omokore and associates were able to pocket more fantastic sums of money for a service they did not render to Nigerians.

Jide Omokore
The Federal House of Representatives in its investigation into the petroleum sector of the country revealed that the government claimed that subsidy to the tune N101 per litre is paid on kerosene while the country makes use of an average of 9,000,000 litres of kerosene per day, the figure gives an average of N909 million paid on subsidy per day to make the product available to the people at N50 instead of the N130 – N150 that is obtainable today even in filling stations.

While the people are suffering based on the hardship they undergo because of the high cost of kerosene, some individuals like Femi Otedola, Ifeanyi Uba, Jide Omokore and others are smiling to the bank at the expense of Nigerians.

Fraud Allegation Trails Onasanya’s First Bank Parting Project

+ Insiders Revealed Renovation is to Siphon Billions of Naira
...The many Fruad that is Forcing him out of the bank

Onasanya
His mien shows that of a complete gentleman, it would have been very wrong not to also address his as one, Mr. Bisi Onasanya, the outgoing Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of First Bank Nigeria Plc, stumbled into the bank’s helms of affairs after his predecessor, Malam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, was appointed the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor.

Recently the bank MD announced that he will not be serving for another term as his current term at the helm of the bank’s affairs will be coming to an end later this year after over 6 years in charge, many were surprised since there seems to be no problem with him health wise that can stop him from completing his ten years tenures that banks CEOs stay was pegged to some years back. Feelers from within the bank board alleged that his retirement is due to the many bad publicity the bank has been attracting under his management.

Another source inside the bank also revealed that as his parting gift the Onasanya led management has embarked on an impromptu renovation of the bank’s head office in Marina, Lagos. The renovation which we gathered is an attempt by the MD to further enrich himself was billed to be done under 6 months with no certain amount budgeted for it, the source alleged that the renovation in billed to gulp several billion of naira and that the plan is to mention the money after the whole thing has been concluded.

All attempt to get the response of the bank was futile but a sms sent to Babatunde Lasaki, the bank’s head of Media and External Relations was answered, and he confirmed that renovation is ongoing while also revealing that it is to be carried out at every big branch of the bank though he also could not confirm the budget.

It will be recalled that Onasanya’s emergence has seen the bank playing lead role in Dr. Abdulrasheed Maina pension scam. It would be recalled that the bank under Onasanya was at the fore front of the crisis when the Senate Joint Committee on Establishment and Public Service and States and Local Governments, was investigating how pensions were looted when some officials of the Pension Office falsified documents to withdraw N24 billion instead of N3.5billion required and approved from the Budget Office for the payment of pensions, while N21 billion of the stolen money was lodged in a First Bank account, while the bank decided not to ask any question.

The bank also played a leading role in the now rested case of former Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah’s N255m bullet proof car. Recently, a Federal High Court Judge in Lagos, Justice Mohammed Yunusa ordered First Bank of Nigeria Plc to make public, documents relating to loan facility obtained by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), which was used in purchasing the controversial bullet proof cars for the former minister of aviation in 2013.

Onasanya led management was said to have entered into “over N1bn” loan facility with the agency to procure several vehicles for what the agency termed security and operational purposes without appropriation by the National Assembly. In the illegal deal the NCAA, which is the regulatory agency for the country’s aviation industry bought 54 vehicles for N643.1m under the “Leased Financing” it entered into with the First Bank Plc, including the controversial N255m bulletproof cars.

Also under his leadership the bank was also mentioned in a fraudulent activity that has to do with the former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva and the SNECOU Group of Companies Limited over undisclosed services rendered since 2007 of which a deduction of N300 million monthly is being made from state's account based on an irrevocable Standing Payment Order (ISPO). In a statement issued by the State Governor Mr. Seriake Dickson, who explained that the money was being drawn from the Bayelsa State Government Consolidated Revenue Fund Account domiciled in First Bank, as far back as June 2007, and that the firm alone had with the help of the bank collected over N32 billion in ISPO.

The bank’s image took further bashing when it was dragged before a federal high court sitting in Lagos, by the Office of Attorney General of the Federation in a three count criminal charge of money laundering, in the case the bank was accused of conspiring with others to launder the sum of $1.9 million, the source of which was unlawful and thereby committed an offence contrary to and Punishable under sections 15 (3) and 18(a) of Money Laundering (prohibition) Act.

Inside source revealed that the many bad publicity his administration has brought to the bank is the reason it was impressed on him not to look for extension of his tenure till the mandated 10 years, and this is what he’s playing on to further loot the bank before he finally bow out of office at the end of this year.

Pictures From The Beirut Wedding Extravaganza of Gov Ajimobi's Daughter

+ The Reason The Wedding Pictures Are Off Press

The Couple in front of their Cake
She was first mentioned in the media when she emerged with State Honours Award during her passing out parade at the NYSC with four other recipients. Her award was at that time queried in different quarters citing her parents influence.

She's at the moment enjoying media mention due to her wedding both the white and traditional that were all performed off the media preying eye. After her traditional wedding was successfully hidden from the media, all attempt to block the media from getting a whiff of the happenings was however thwarted when www.toyeenbalogun.com published the pictures of the pre-wedding party in far away Beirut, Lebanon, this was followed by that of the wedding proper.

The question making round is; why is Governor Ajimobi been too secretive about the whole wedding event? After all, it is always a thing of joy to give ones daughter away in marriage.  Sources close to the Governor however revealed that the need for the whole wedding to be kept off public radar was because of the 5 months salary being owed the Oyo State civil servants.

It is believed, that the secrecy became important because of the planned show of wealth the Governor has vowed to make of the wedding. This is because  Jibola is a child that has never attracted any form of scandal except the little one that has to do with the NYSC's award which can also be argued unlike her other siblings.

The Governor who is one of the guests of the humble but anointed man of God who is celebrating his Birthday, 25 years in the ministry and the presentation of the 33 books he wrote, was commissioned and ordained for grace to rule in God's fear by the clergy. He also told me of my exit from PDP. I was shocked when all he predicted started unfolding one after the other.”

He stated further that Bro Iginla’s messages were delivered long before everything he predicted started happening, the man of God’s ingenuity and uprightness in God was cited as the reason by the Governor as the reason he decided to come and celebrate with him as he has since adopted the prophet as his Father in the Lord. He also promise to govern his people fairly, “I have vowed to govern strictly in the fear of the Lord" he concluded.
